Tugboat
We are privileged and honored to list the Tug “Wallace Foss” for sale. Built in 1897 by Tacoma Shipyard, this vessel was originally intended to be a wooden, steam passenger vessel. Plans changed and she began her career as the tug “Oscar B”. The “Oscar B” worked in the Puget Sound area until 1911. In 1913 the Rouse Towing Company bought her, did a complete overhaul and she was renamed the “Rouse”. She worked until 1925 when she was given another major over-haul. She was renamed “Wallace Foss” in 1945 and continued working the waters of the Pacific Northwest. “Wallace Foss” was a working tugboat through March 1971. She has been privately held in her “retirement” and most recently has been converted to a cruising and live aboard vessel in Newport, Rhode Island.
