Stored inside, this well maintained Hinckley has just had all the brightwork on deck completelyredone (June/July 2014) and she looks great. More work has been done on the interior to make her shine and new bottom paint applied Spring 2015. She is ready to go back in the water.
Named Thistle, as a nod to the owners heritage, this Sou'West 50 has been consistently maintained and is ready for a new owner. She is available by appointment.
As you step aboard, you will notice the amount of deck space, recent varnish work, and how easily accessible the lines are allowing for the boat to be single handed should you like to sail solo.
Heading down below, the galley is to port with wood grain Formica countertops, Force 10 4 burner stove, multiple refrigeration units, hot and cold pressure water system and double stainless steel sinks.
To starboard is the nav station, with radar, loran, and GPS systems. There is a multi-drawerchart size desk giving plenty of storage for all your charts, boat manuals, pulleys, shackles, pins etc.
Aft of the nav station and under the starboard cockpit area is a quarter berth for crew or for additional storage.
To port and forward of the galley area is the dinette, with an additional berth behind the main seating area. To starboard is more seating, which pulls out for yet more sleeping accommodations.
Moving forward, both the guest and master heads are to port and forward of that the owner's cabin which has a roomy v-berth arrangement with filler for a full double berth arrangement.
Thistle is powered by a Ford Lehman FWC 80 HP diesel, with less than 1,500 hours. There is also an Onan generator to power the reverse cycle heat and A/C.
She has a bronze centerboard keel which gives an 11' draft for added stability.
On deck there is a full sail inventory consisting of a fully-battened main with roach, fully-battened mizzen with max roach, 120% Genoa headsail, roller-furling, 150% Genoa Storm Trysail, Storm Jib, Reefable staysail for inner forestay, a Hood MPS cruising spinnaker with snuffer, spinnaker pole and Sail covers.
