Whether trolling, drifting or anchoring, the Dorado 30 LE is an offshore fishing boat with a stable platform and plenty of uncluttered fishing space. Standard features including livewell and fish box on both sides of the boat. Put the Conastoga top up and bring the family along keeping them protected and cozy in the shade, or put it down and fish the entire gunnel length of 44 feet. For storage, the Dorado 30 has a full V-berth forward for even more dry storage space or comfortable overnight outings. The unique design of the strong and light hull improves performance in several ways. It is easy and legal to trailer the Dorado 30 with a small V8 vehicle. With a 230 hp turbo-charged diesel the boat can cruise at 30 miles per hour and only burn 5 gallons per hour. That gives a range of 500 miles on an 85-gallon tank of fuel. The Dorado design makes it easy to access the engine and all moving parts. The hull design provides a seaworthy ride whether in rough waters or resting. With an extremely sharp entry, this is an extremely smooth, pound-free ride. It has a fairly flat trailing edge which provides stability at rest.
The motor has less than fifty hours on it now since major overhaul. It's running great and getting 4 miles to the gallon! Also a list of new parts are as follows: new computer, new after cooler, new starter, new alternator, new exhaust manifold, rebuilt fuel injection pump, rebuilt turbo, new exhuast elbow, new clutch on supercharger, new lift pump, new internal parts for rebuilding of motor. Also new bell housing and bearing, u-joints and rebuilt intermediate housing. About $14,000 total spent.
