Northeast 400

Welcome aboard ENCHANTMENT, a beautiful Northeast 400 motorsailer designed and built by Cabo Rico.
Fast and fun to sail, the prestigious Cabo Rico company introduced this model to answer the modern demand for a motorsailer, one that could sail with high performance, while powering at trawler speeds.
Cabo Rico commissioned the Northeast 400 hull design by Mark Ellis, featuring exacting standards of construction, joinery and finish that made Cabo Rico famous. ENCHANTMENT is one of the finest motorsailers built. As hull #21 of 26, you will enjoy her pleasing traditional aesthetics, excellent performance, easy sight lines, functional layout considerations and careful approach to innovation.
With a fine forward, long lines along the water, and extremely wide sections aft, she provides you with outstanding stability under sail yet minimal squatting, pitching and rolling under power. Her 100hp engine provides cruising speeds of 8-9 knots. Under sail, she pushes 7+ knots of upwind performance in a proper sailing breeze. Perfect for the coastal sailor who is not yet ready to move into a trawler, yet wants to enjoy the best of both cruising worlds.
ENCHANTMENT'S large, open cockpit is easily entered from a transom door and large swim platform. This simple one-level design from swim platform to cockpit to saloon/pilothouse eliminates the need to climb or descend stairs. The cockpit features three helmsman seats (one center for motoring, two port and starboard for sailing), as well as additional forward seating for crew. A large folding teak table functions for both dining and cold storage. Two very large and deep lazarettes, port and starboard, permit easy access to mechanics and gear.
Inside, all interior is well conditioned teak throughout, with a satin varnish. All cabin soles are teak and holly. From the cockpit, you enter the enclosed saloon/pilothouse through two sliding doors, with drop down screens for ventilation. The cozy saloon/pilothouse features an inside helm station to starboard, folding teak dining table, single settee to starboard, and convertible settee (single to double berth) for occasional guests to port. She is completed by 360 degree views with sliding glass windows and screens.
Down three stairs, the galley, convenient to both the aft saloon/pilothouse and forward den areas, is light, airy and open, enjoying excellent ventilation and an overhead of 8.5'. It is also centered and very low to eliminate motion discomfort.Across from the galley is the popular "open" library-den arrangement, with two arm chairs, navigation desk and bookshelf. Forward is the master cabin, featuring a large island double bed. A separate head and shower arrangement can be accessed through both the master cabin or main living area.
Throughout ENCHANTMENT, you will find storage capabilities to compliment the yacht's great cruising range, including double-hanging lockers, tons of large drawers, and aircraft-type lockers. All overhead panels are removable to access wiring, etc. Also impressive is the large engine room, easily accessed through the saloon's sole.
ENCHANTMENT has been used primarily for sailing, which has helped her maintain low, but consistent, engine hours. She features excellent maintenance logs and records, and has been kept at a private dock - watched over by her owners every day. Constant care, upgrades, and professional maintenance has been the standard.
Kadey-Krogen Yachts is proud to feature this fine cruising yacht as part of our brokerage. Make your appointment to see ENCHANTMENT today.
