After all the years of dedicated hard work by numerous artisans and highly skilled craftsmen in building this artistic mini yacht, David is really pleased to find a new home for their labor of love. Almost every piece on this Yacht was made by hand, and then had the surveyor inspect throughout the build. (See Survey) You need to read all the specs, look at the photos which will give you an idea of what Dream Catcher looks like, but so much better in person.

The Galley is a Comfortable space with all modern appliances. Hot, cold and filtered drinking water are available in the Custom designed, Black ceramic sink, recessed into the Granite countertop. The Vent-a-Hood provides excellent light for the color coordinated range top and provides circulation throughout the galley.
There are three entertainment systems on the craft with one each in the Forward Berth area, Salon and Aft Stateroom. In addition, there is a Stereo system on the Flying Bridge for use on the Bridge and the Rear Upper Deck.
The Salon area is equipped with:
The AFT Stateroom with:
The Forward Berth Area
Entry to the Salon is through a custom African Mahogany door with a hand etched marine scene of playful dolphins, the yacht’s profile and the manufacturer’s signature. The door has an electronic combination lock and a manual key override. The salon is well appointed with a wraparound leather sofa that converts to a double bed when necessary and has two exotic Honduran Mahogany wood end tables with Black Marble inlays. There are built-in pull out drawers under the sofa and both an exotic wood wall fold-down and removable table offering table flexibility. The flooring is custom milled Herringbone pattern Texas Mesquite that gives excellent performance and a high luster finish. There are removable window box covers, with recessed electric Hunter Douglas window shades, operated independently or as a group by a wireless remote. The Salon Doors (fwd. and aft) are hand crafted of Honduran Mahogany, with Pella Windows that can easily be opened and closed, with inserts that can be changed to different fabrics colors and designs. The doors also have adjustable louvers for ventilation and privacy. The custom wine rack and end tables are of Honduran Mahogany with led backlighting and tinted inserts, adding a touch of class reminiscent of “Old World” charm and warmth. The inlaid overhead indirect lighting panel provides both natural and colored lighting to the salon area. The entertainment system and Television is adjustable and viewable to all and can be stored away and made inconspicuous with sliding tambour doors. A full-length granite countertop and several custom drawers and cabinets provide for additional storage. The ceiling lights in both the Salon and Helm areas are dimmable.
The Forward “V” Berth area is comfortable with a memory foam bed and an independent entertainment system more suited for connecting game consoles and for more private music listening or gaming. Numerous wall cabinets provide for additional storage and an insert panel provides additional room for an expanded sleeping area.
The forward area has a large walk-in Shower that is equipped with European shower fixtures that have five horizontal shower heads and a vertical rotating “Rain” head, plus a hand-held rinse head. The shower is a comfortable size and has an incorporated ceramic site counter top and seating area. The shower system allows for pre-setting water temperatures and the water does not flow until it reaches the pre-determined temperature setting, thus saving water.
The Aft Stateroom has a custom Memory Foam bed. The bed is custom designed and is larger than a conventional California King. All covers and bedding are custom fitted. The three closets, twenty-one drawers, two overhead storage areas and two end tables provide for more storage than any other craft in this category. There is an “E-Z Nook” work station that opens into a roomy desktop for a laptop or computer monitor. The stateroom stays airy with an Oreck Air Purifier, with a lifetime filter and oxygenator that converts ozone to oxygen.
The interior furnishing was custom manufactured by quality artisans that modified such craft as the late King Fahd’s, the Sultan of Brunei’s and the U.S. Air Force One aircraft. The workmanship and appearance of the exotic woodwork is un-parallel in the modern boating world.
Some of the unique features of the Stateroom are:
The Pilot station is well equipped. The Fully Adjustable six-way electric pilot’s leather bench seat is comfortable for two and has an excellent view. There is an electrically retractable lighted step to be used as footrest or a convenient step during operation. The electrical control panel and master battery shut-off switches are all located within reach of the pilot’s seat. The Bow Thruster and Trim Tab controls are on either side of the display monitor and are readily accessible. The custom gold throttle controller is one of very few ever manufactured. The exclusive highly polished brass wheel, engraved wheel nut and custom machined Honduran Mahogany spokes are the essence of a traditional nautical theme. All the switches and gauges are marked/identified and easily visible from the station.
The Flying Bridge is a fully complemented addition to the yacht. There is seating for four and the pilot’s station seats two comfortably. Every control and feature of the Pilot’s station is replicated on the Flying Bridge. There are two monitors on the flying bridge that provide more information for specialized functions. The fish finding function and the radar or GPS can be simultaneously monitored. The instrument panel is stainless steel and is embossed with a custom industrial circular pattern. All controls are within easy reach and an additional Digital Radio Receiver (Bluetooth, USB, Aux SD, I/Pod, I/Phone, Pandora ports) is available for entertainment for all on the Flying Bridge and Upper Rear Deck.

Yacht Mktg. Background/Introduction
David Candler, born and raised in Md. is the son of a school teacher and an exceptional artisan/craftsman Father. David began his passion for boats and boating at 13, when he and a friend rebuilt an 8 foot pram and spent many hours on a local river, enjoying the environment, swimming and fishing. This was the start of a lifetime passion for boats, custom cars, drag racing and high-end private aircraft. He also achieved a BCS, MBA and CPA, all with top honors. In 1971, he joined one of the country’s pioneers in corporate jet aviation, where he used his financial and business skills to participate in the company’s and industry’s rapid growth, while owning several different boats and enjoying weekend boating with his family on the Chesapeake Bay. He and a partner later purchased and maintained a high-performance Cigarette offshore ocean racing boat. For the next 30 years, he continued his participation in the aviation and aerospace industries, with a primary emphasis on aircraft financing, leasing, marketing and major project management, moving to San Antonio, Texas in 1981 and ultimately founding his own firm of Candler & Associates, Inc., in 1986, where he continued his lifelong passion of building, modifying and dealing in cars, high-end corporate & commercial aircraft and a return to boats. In 2000, he undertook the conversion, modification and outfitting of a commercial aircraft into a luxurious long-range private corporate aircraft, utilizing a team of master level artisan craftsmen, dedicated to providing superior design and fabrication services and distinguished with years of experience in craft customization of multi-million dollar wide-body jets for foreign heads of state (such as the late King Fahd and the Sultan of Brunei) and for corporate VIPs and other dignitaries. After some delays in project completion, Dave decided to embark upon another project, with this same skilled team of artisan craftsmen, to construct a mini yacht, incorporating most of the features and amenities associated with the much more expensive custom built mega yachts of twice the size. As with VIP aviation, yacht designs (both are luxury vessels) share many aesthetic synergies, including documentation and certifications.
David served as Project Planning and Management for this hand-crafted vessel. The project commenced with a high-quality (Chris Craft), hand-laid fiberglass hull and the hiring of an experienced boat builder from Florida to serve as the on-site project manager. Shortly thereafter, he gathered representatives from the high-end aviation industry to select numerous exterior and interior design elements from the yachting industry’s mega-yacht publications. The team then selected the specific elements to be incorporated in the design, retaining the goal of constructing a mini-yacht, incorporating most of the features and amenities of significantly larger high-end yachts. Graphic designers and architects were utilized to translate these custom ideas into renderings and drawings.
Over the ensuing years, David and his team hand-built the C&A 51’ Signature Series “Dream Catcher” yacht, incorporating creative and innovative design, performed by a resource pool of talented artisans, with an overall commitment to quality. Highly researched marine and aviation suppliers were selected to provide the latest in electronics, custom interior furnishings, table mechanisms, windows, lighting, sound systems and custom amenities of numerous types, finishes and styles.
This yacht is constructed of the highest quality hand selected materials, including hand-laid fiberglass, decks comprised of marine grade plywood and divinycel (and other strong and lightweight composites), incorporating stainless steel structural supports. It is outfitted with extensive hand-crafted custom cabinetry, mahogany, and the use of numerous exotic woods, Interior flooring is Texas mesquite and other hardwoods and the exterior deck flooring is covered in synthetic teak. The interior is stocked with the newest fine (aviation) leathers, fabrics and textile trends, granite, marble, modern lighting, plus the latest in helm management technology, combined with an endless array of ideas resulting in a one of a kind private yacht, striking the perfect balance between form, function, durability and ease of maintenance. After many years of dedicated hard work, the completion of this memorable and comfortable yacht fully meets its original design objective (a high-end mini mega yacht) and is truly a passionate act of creation, an extraordinary floating work of art.
